Report: Mason adds director of high school relations to staff
In preparation for his second season as Vanderbilt's head coach, Derek Mason has added a new staff member. According to David Boclair of the Nashville Post, Rayna Stewart has been hired as the program's director of high school relations.
Stewart brings experience at a number of levels. He attended college at Northern Arizona, played five seasons as a safety in the NFL and has spent his recent years coaching high school football in Tennessee. According to Boclair, Stewart's role will be "as a liaison between the program and high schools, which will involve extensive work organizing recruiting visits."
This is a role a number of major programs have added of late in an attempt to get a leg up in recruiting.
