Recruit apologizes to Urban Meyer for 'treated me like crap' comment

Days after Kentucky recruit Landon Young claimed that Urban Meyer and Ohio State treated him "like crap," Young apologized to the head coach and university.

Young tweeted his apology Wednesday.

"The quotes that were attributed to me in an article last week were mistaken and in no way reflect my feelings toward coach Urban Meyer and the Ohio State program," Young wrote.

"Coach was honest and frank with me, and he and his staff treated me with a great amount of respect during my visit. My explanation of the camp treatment was that I thought it was actually somewhat funny and startling that Coach Meyer was so honest and frank with me."

Young painted a different picture last week, when, in an interview with SEC Country, he said the Buckeyes treated him "like a piece of meat, just treated me like crap" during a private meeting with Meyer.

Meyer responded to Young's claims Tuesday, telling 247Sports, "We had a lot of respect for him as a player. A lot. I was very disappointed in our staff that we did not offer him earlier. ... About treating him bad, we don't do that on purpose."
