Rapid Reaction: Louisville football lands at three in new AP Poll
Louisville football’s phenomenal win over the Florida State Seminoles got everyone’s attention as they have moved to the third ranked team in the country.
What a way to cap of the weekend for the Louisville football team. The Associated Press released their week four poll this afternoon and moved the Cardinals into the third ranked spot in the country. It seems as though everyone is now focused on what Louisville and Lamar Jackson can do this season.
It was a little surprising to see Louisville jump over Clemson this week, but these two teams will be able to settle it on the field the week after next. As if the Florida State game wasn’t already big enough for everyone, the Clemson game will be a game between two of the nations’ top five teams.
After getting beat by Louisville 63-20 only a day ago, the Florida State Seminoles dropped out of the top ten and into the 13th spot. They need to regroup very quickly if they want to play in the College Football Playoff at the end of this season.
Here is the new top ten, according to the Associated Press:
The Cardinals now turn their focus to a road game at Marshall next Saturday night at 8:00pm. All eyes are now on this Louisville football team and star quarterback Lamar Jackson. It will be very interesting to see how they will handle the spotlight over the rest of the season, but something tells me that they will be just fine.
Louisville’s opportunity to get lazy was against Florida State. With College Gameday being in town and people talking about Jackson, the Cardinals had an opportunity to be over confident against FSU. However, they handled the spotlight by giving the Seminoles one of their worst losses of all-time.
Louisville football is for real and they are here to stay.
