Penn State tight ends eager to show what they can do

With playing time likely available this fall, a pair of tight ends who were highly regarded recruits are both looking for breakout seasons at Penn State this fall.
For Adam Breneman, that means proving he is fully recovered from knee problems that made him decide to sit out last season as a medical redshirt.
He told the Allentown Morning Call he "felt methodical and slow" during spring practice, but that is no longer the case.
"For the first time in a while, I feel like I'm good at football again," said Breneman, who also reported recently running a 4.63-second 40-yard dash at 254 pounds. "It's kind of a good feeling."
Mike Gesicki just wants to show what a year in a college weight program did for him.
He told PennLive.com he could feel the effect of bulking up from 235 to 255 pounds during spring ball.
"I was able to get movement, attack people differently," he said. "It's just different when you add 20 pounds of weight. You just play faster, more confident; I'm just excited to play at that weight this year and see where I can go with it."
The pair will work with veteran Kyle Carter to replace the production of Jesse James, who left early for the NFL draft.
