Osbourne leads Albany (NY) over Colgate 37-34
Omar Osbourne rushed for a career-best 252 yards to lead Albany in a 37-34 victory over Colgate on Saturday night.
Both teams were able to move the ball easily on offense, combing for 1,100 yards total offense. Colgate (0-2) had four turnovers in the first half and Albany jumped ahead 30-14 early in the third quarter.
Colgate cut the deficit to 30-27 and had a first down on the Albany 3-yard line late in the game. The Albany defense stuffed Colgate on four straight running plays and took possession with 4:26 to go.
Looking to run out the clock, Osbourne instead found room to break free for 36-yard gain on third down. Presley Beauvais followed with a 47-yard touchdown run on the next play to put Albany up 37-27.
Colgate scored again with 18 seconds left but failed to recover the onside kick.
