Oregon QB Jeff Lockie is taking future 'one game at a time'

Published Dec. 17, 2015 4:29 p.m. ET

Junior quarterback Jeff Lockie has been through this before. This season, graduate-transfer Vernon Adams Jr. came into the Oregon program and won the starting quarterback job. Next season, it looks as though Montana State graduate-transfer Dakota Prukop could follow in Adams' footsteps.

Lockie, for his part, is ready for another quarterback competition.

"I think it's something we kind of get used to, and I wouldn't say come to expect, but it's always an option," said Lockie. "I've been through it before so it's nothing new."

Lockie, who may have a future in coaching, doesn't sound like someone thinking about leaving the Ducks for another school.

"I start my MBA program in January, already got that rolling," Lockie said, via The Oregonian. "I'm just taking it one game at a time here and worrying about this week. We'll worry about all that stuff down the road."
