Ohio State football entered the season with a lot of potential stars, but two have stood out the most in the eyes of the Maxwell Football Club as it works to determine the best player and the best defender in the nation this season.
The club announced Monday that running back Ezekiel Elliott is among 20 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the best player in the country.
Elliott leads the Big Ten in rushing at 141.2 yards per game and in scoring at 9.8 points per game.
