Notre Dame uses uniform announcement to award scholarship
Notre Dame pulled a bit of a switcheroo Thursday when it unveiled the uniforms it will wear for the Shamrock Series game against Boston College this season.
The football's Twitter page teased an announcement with a Vine showing players jump out of their seats in the team meeting room upon learning something.
An hour later came the post showing off the special uniforms, but it turns out that was not the whole story.
What got so many of the Fighting Irish to jump out of their seats was an announcement about the young man modeling the alternate look -- walk-on Josh Anderson.

Make that former walk-on Josh Anderson.
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly told Anderson as he told the team that Anderson, a 5-foot-9, 200-pound running back from Chatsworth, Calif., has been awarded a scholarship for his senior season.
