North Carolina State suspended sophomore halfback Mustafa Greene shortly before kickoff against South Alabama.

The school didn't provide a reason for the suspension, though team spokeswoman Annabelle Myers said coach Tom O'Brien would address Greene's suspension after the game.

Greene started last week's win against Connecticut, rushing for 48 yards on 17 carries. He missed last year due to a foot injury suffered during spring practice and was the team's leading rusher in 2010.
