Mississippi State vs. UMass TV channel announced
Good news – you will be able to watch Mississippi State vs. UMass on TV….sort of.
Back in the summer if was announced the game would be played at 3:30 Eastern, 2:30 Central. But it was announced without a TV partner (more below). But today it was announced that the game will be on ESPN3 / Watch ESPN app.
If you don’t have Roku or Chromecast, now would be a good time to get it. These are great tools that enable to you stream what’s on your phone to your TV. It works great for things like Netflix and I use it all the time during college baseball season.
Prior to today, it looked like we were about to go back to the good ole days with just a radio call for this game.
UMass is an independent so they have no TV rights deals. WCBI out of Columbus, MS is the only TV channel you can watch it on, via their relationship with the American Sports Network. Otherwise, you’ll either have to stream the game or fly up to Boston and attend it.
UMass hasn’t fared too well so far this year. They got pounded by Florida and then Boston College. This week they play Florida International before Mississippi State comes to town.
I still might just listen to this game on the radio. To tell you the truth I was kind of looking forward to it. It seems like I never get to listen to the radio call anymore, I just watch on TV or I’m at the game live. It’s a shame my kids will never really experience the wonder and imagination of listening to a game on the radio.
