Michigan's glitzy Signing Day showcase raised $120,000 for cancer research

Michigan's glitzy Signing of the Stars showcase on Wednesday not only celebrated the signing of the nation's top recruit, Rashan Gary -- and helped coaching legend Lou Holtz learn what Dabbing is -- it also has raised over $120,000 so far for the Chad Tough foundation, honoring the late Chad Carr -- the grandson of former Wolverines head coach Lloyd Carr. And for all the criticism the event has taken from some around the football world, the awareness and the money it has raised for such a great case deserves more of that spotlight.
So proud that we raised 120K & counting for @Chadtough at #SigningOfTheStars. Thanks to all of the celebrities who volunteered their time!

Chad Carr passed away in November at 5 years old after he battled a rare form of cancer called DIPG. Michigan has been encouraging donations to the foundation in lieu of charging for tickets to the invitation-only event.
Among the stars that participated were former Wolverines QB turned NFL great Tom Brady, Michigan native Derek Jeter, former major league manager Jim Leyland, Holtz, former Michigan Heisman winner Desmond Howard, pro wrestling legend Ric Flair, ex-NFL coach Mike Shanahan and NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski.
