Michigan Football Rolls to 63-3 Win over Hawaii
The Michigan football team was a heavy favorite going into the Hawaii game and the Wolverines play on the field justified it.
It’s been a few years since the Michigan football started the season ranked in the top 10 and Saturday against Hawaii at the Big House, the Wolverines showed why, with a 63-3 trouncing of the Rainbow Warriors to open the season.
Of course, the big question leading up to the game was who would start for Michigan football at quarterback? The answer was Wilton Speight and despite a slow start, the redshirt sophomore acquitted himself well, completing 10-of-13 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns. He did have an intercepion on the game’s opening drive.
Yet, touchdown passes to Grant Perry and Jake Butt in the first quarter helped the Wolverines grab a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second, Michigan broke the game open.
Great start to the season and a solid performance all around.

First, Speight tossed his third touchdown, this time to Amara Darboh, then Delano Hill intercepted a pass and returned it 44 yards for a touchdown to put the Wolverines up 28-0.
An 18-yard touchdown run by freshman Chris Evans gave Michigan a 35-0 lead at intermission.
In the second half, Evans scored again, this time on a 43-yard touchdown run, which made the score 42-0. Another interception return for a touchdown, this time by Channing Stribling made it 49-0 and put the exclamation on a dominant defensive performance.

The Wolverines (1-0) will be back in action next week when they will host Central Florida at Michigan Stadium.
