Marcus Lattimore gives shopping spree to South Carolina flood victims
Former South Carolina All-American running back Marcus Lattimore is doing his part to bring attention back to those in need in South Carolina, as victims still remain from the floods that devastated the area months ago.
"I just want to bring awareness to what is really going on in Georgetown Country," Lattimore said to FOX Carolina.
The former Gamecock took 25 children from the area to Wal-Mart and bought them all a new pair of shoes and a $120 gift card to be used on anything the kids desired.
"It's still amazing to me, the impact that I do have," Lattimore said. "It's something that I don't take lightly at all. I don't take it for granted, and every opportunity I have to meet a kid that looks up to me in any kind of way, I'm going to take that opportunity because I know it's going to help them."
