Louisville Football: Rapid reaction to the new AP Poll
Louisville football stayed put at number seven in the Associated Press’ poll heading into week seven of the college football season.
The associated press released their poll for the week and the Louisville football team didn’t go anywhere in this week’s poll. At number seven in the country, the Cardinals are the highest rated one loss team in the entire nation. If that’s not respect, then I don’t know what more a fan could want.
Texas A&M jumped over the Cardinals this week after beating the Tennessee Volunteers in overtime last weekend. The loss on the road for the Volunteers didn’t hurt their standing before the AP as they didn’t move Tennessee anywhere. That’s good news for Vols’ fans who thought they would surely be out of the top ten this week.
Here is the Associated Press’ poll for week seven:
Louisville should be staying at number seven at least for a few more weeks until Texas A&M has to play number one Alabama. However, the Cards could move up earlier than that if Ohio State gets beat by number eight Wisconsin this coming Saturday afternoon.
All in all, the bye week treated Louisville okay. Florida State got a huge win over Miami to move them back up to 14th in the country and Houston’s loss only dropped them to 13th in the country. Louisville needs those two teams to keep winning to help their strength of schedule at the end of the year.
