Liberty rushes for 319 yards, routs Jacksonville 55-7

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) Stephon Masha threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Liberty to a 55-7 rout of Jacksonville on Saturday night.

Todd Macon added 128 yards on the ground for Liberty, including a 49-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put Jacksonville away. Frankie Hickson finished with 116 yards and Carrington Mosely added 87 more for the Flames, who ran 51 times for 319 yards total. Hickson added two touchdowns and Mosely had one.

Masha found B.J. Farrow and Dante Shells for touchdown passes in the first quarter and the Flames (1-1) had an early 14-0 lead which they extended to 31-0 at halftime.

Rylan Wells had 126 yards passing for Jacksonville, but was plagued by two interceptions. Ulysses Bryant ran for 75 yards and Prince Gray had 59 yards receiving for the Dolphins, who were playing their season opener.

Pernell Rattray scored Jacksonville's lone touchdown.
