As we make our way to Week 7 of the college football season, college GameDay makes its second appearance in Wisconsin. During the first week of the season, GameDay was at Lambeau Field for LSU vs Wisconsin, a game that Wisconsin won. They now make their return to Madison for the first time since 2011 as the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers take on the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes. This top 10 matchup will have a major impact on how the Big Ten will play out the rest of the year.

This will be the fourth top 10 team that Wisconsin has played on the year. So far they are 2-1, their only loss being to No. 4 Michigan. They have beaten, at the time, No. 5 LSU and No. 8 Michigan State. Ohio State is heavily favored in this game, for Wisconsin to pull the upset they will have to rely on their defense to step up like they have all year. 17 points is the most that the Wisconsin defense has allowed to any team all year. Meanwhile Ohio State is averaging 53.2 points a game. The game will come down to how well the Wisconsin defense can control the Ohio State offense and more specifically J.T Barrett.

On the year, J.T Barrett has thrown for 981 yards with 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Barrett has also run for 342 yards and four scores. Wisconsin will truly have to slow down Barrett if they want a chance in this game. They won’t be able to stop him but slowing him down would help their cause. Indiana was able to make Barrett seem a little more human last week as the Indiana defense held Barrett just only 93 yards passing. Indiana still lost by 21 points, but proved that slowing Barrett is possible.

J.T Barrett may be the focal point on the football field, but when college GameDay comes to town, everyone is watching Lee Corso and what he does with his head gear pick. For Corso, this will be head gear pick number 283. His overall record is 187-95. When it comes to Ohio State and Wisconsin, Corso has put on the Brutus Buckeye head 20 times and is 14-6 when doing so. Corso has picked Wisconsin only four times and is 2-2. One of those wins was Wisconsin’s upset win back in 2010 over the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes. It has been a few years since Corso has been able to a three game win streak together. With a correct pick today he would have one. Wisconsin has won the last three times GameDay has come to Madison. Will Corso take that into consideration, or will he take the safe pick with Ohio State?

Corso did indeed take the safe bet and picked Ohio State.

This is now the 21st time Corso has dawned the Brutus head, will it result in yet another win for Corso or will it be three straight losses for him when picking Ohio State?
