LB Jordan Burton thankful for opportunity in standout first season for Cowboys
Jordan Burton was one of many surprise bright spots for Oklahoma State this season, even given its awful showing in the Sugar Bowl. Burton has a promising future ahead of him in Stillwater, but that doesn't mean he's unaffected by his team's poor showing in front of a national audience.
“It's an emotional loss,” said Burton in his first interview since transferring to OSU from Longview Junior College (Texas). “We wanted to send the seniors off with something they would remember.”
Burton started every game at linebacker for OSU this season, and he certainly didn't disappoint. He notched 98 tackles, the second most of any Cowboy, to go along with 31/2 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception. He was also named first team All-Big 12 by the AP.
“I'm extremely blessed to be a part of a team like this,” Burton said. “To come in this first year and win 10 games, it's all been great.”
