Just Rosey
It was the comeback of comebacks.
And if you missed it, we've got you covered – relive the UCLA Bruins' epic comeback win over the Texas A&M Aggies, which aired tonight on FS1.
UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen led the charge, helping the Bruins overcome a 34-point second half deficit, in what would become the second biggest comeback in NCAA history.
And tonight, we're bringing back all the magic from that fateful fall evening.
The first half was essentially a rout.
Correction: it was a rout.
Texas A&M entered halftime with a 38-10 lead, and this thing looked like a wrap.
But wouldn't you know it, in the present day, UCLA football is tapped in, reminding its followers that there was still a remarkable final 30 minutes of action yet to come.
To open the third quarter, the Aggies connected on two field goals and led 44-10 with a little over 4 minutes left in the third frame.
That's when the fun began.
UCLA scored on a 6-yard scamper by running back Soso Jamabo before the third ended, and the Bruins trailed 44-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
To open the final frame, wide receiver Darren Andrews caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Rosen, bringing the Bruins to within 20 at the 13:22 mark.
Then, this happened.
Good ol' Lady Luck!
Rosen found Andrews again, this time for 42 yards and another score.
On the next possession, a blocked punt by UCLA defensive back Adarius Pickett kept Aggie points off the board, and UCLA got the ball back with a ton of momentum.
Things are getting tense – but Rosen is still as cool as the other side of the pillow.
This 16-yard touchdown pass from Rosen to wide receiver Theo Howard had to be the play of the game, cutting the Aggies' lead to 6.
UCLA is officially back in it.
And on the Bruins' next drive, the legend of Josh Rosen was born.
There you have it: the Aggies put 44 on the board with 4:08 left in the third quarter and failed to score again, while the Bruins scored 35 unanswered points in a little over 15 minutes to score a 45-44 win.
Rosen, who led the comeback, finished with some gaudy numbers.
Despite their defeat, Texas A&M played a big role in creating this college thriller, as both teams dominated on the offensive side of the ball – each team just happened to take turns dominating, with the Aggies owning the first half and UCLA owning the second.
Andrews finished the game with 12 catches, 142 yards and 2 touchdowns for UCLA. Bruins wide receiver Caleb Wilson caught 15 passes for 208 yards.
For Texas A&M, running back Trayveon Williams ran for 203 yards on 22 carries and scored 2 touchdowns, and backfield mate Keith Ford carried the ball 18 times, racking up 114 yards and scoring 3 touchdowns.
