High school player charged with attempted murder in beating of football teammate

A Baltimore high school football player caught on video beating a teammate whom he allegedly accused of stealing the visor of his helmet has been charged with attempted murder.
The incident happened on Wednesday in the Frederick Douglass High School cafeteria, The Baltimore Sun reported.
Here are the graphic images of the attack:
Sean Johnson, 17, has been charged as an adult, The Sun said, with first- and second-degree attempted murder, and assault. Johnson was being held without bond on Thursday.
When Johnson accused the victim of stealing the visor, charging documents say, the victim denied it. A school police officer wrote that after school staff stopped the attack, they saw the victim "was having a seizure while lying in a pool of his own blood." The victim's injuries included a concussion and a broken nose. He remained hospitalized on Thursday.
Douglass' scheduled football game on Friday was called off.
This incident again has thrust Douglass into the news because of violence. In April, students from the school faced off with police on the same day that protests over the death of Freddie Gray in police custody gave way to riots in Baltimore.
