Golson going full speed ahead at FSU

Everett Golson has entered his second week as a member of the Florida State football program and so far the transition has been pretty smooth for the Notre Dame transfer.
“Good, doing really good,” FSU coach Jimbo Fisher told the Orlando Sentinel last week when asked how Golson was doing. “In meetings, talking to folks, knows the players. Seems to be going really well.”
Golson, who threw for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns last season, will be locked in a battle with Sean MaGuire to replace former Heisman-winning QB Jameis Winston, who was the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft.
Fisher said Golson, along with the other Seminoles newcomers, have a lot to learn before the season starts.
“[Golson] does [have a lot to learn], but they all do. All those young players do,” Fisher told the Orlando Sentinel. “We have a lot of young players that we’re going to count on. They’ll all be in the same boat together.”
