FSU DL Walker on Cards QB Jackson: 'He's faster than Mariota'

If you think No. 11 Florida State is looking past this weekend’s matchup with Louisville, think again.

This Saturday the Seminoles (5-0, 3-0 ACC) will play host to Louisville (2-3, 1-1 ACC) and FSU is well aware of the playmaking potential of Lamar Jackson, the Cardinals dual-threat quarterback.

Jackson, a 6-3, 196-pound freshman, has already rushed for a 435 yards this season to break a school record for quarterbacks, and has reached the end zone five times.

Florida State defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker told Seminoles beat writer Ryan Clark that Jackson is as dangerous with his feet as former Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mariota.

"He's probably the biggest threat of a QB I've seen, like, over Mariota. He's faster than Mariota," said Walker, who racked up a career-high two sacks against Miami and was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Jackson can also get it done through the air. On the season the freshman has completed 53.6 percent of his passes for 598 yards and three touchdowns.
