Ex-Miami interim coach Larry Scott to lead Vols tight ends

Published Jan. 4, 2016 1:54 p.m. ET

Former Miami interim head coach Larry Scott has agreed in principle to become Tennessee's new tight ends coach, Vols coach Butch Jones announced Monday.

A source told FOX Sports earlier in the day that Scott was going to UT for that job.

The 'Canes went 4-2 under Scott, who had been UM's tight ends coach since 2013. Scott will replace Mark Elder, who left UT to become the new head coach at Eastern Kentucky.
