Erin Andrews files $10 million suit

ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews has filed a lawsuit seeking a total of $10 million in damages after being videotaped in the nude through a peephole in her Nashville hotel room in 2008 while she was in town to cover a Vanderbilt University football game.

Andrews' lawsuit seeks $6 million, plus costs and interest, from Nashville's West End Marriott, and $4 million from Michael Barrett, the Chicago man who pleaded guilty to peeping in on the reporter and was sentenced in 2010 to 2-1/2 years in federal prison, according to the Tennessean.

The report also says the lawsuit contends Barrett called the Marriott and was told which room Andrews would be staying in and then rented him the room next to her. The case received national attention after the videos were leaked to the Internet.

The suit also added that the video caused Andrews "great emotional distress and embarrassment."
