Drake 10, Butler 7

Tom Kostek scored a rushing touchdown, Billy Janssen kicked a field goal and Drake held on to defeat Butler 10-7 Saturday in the season finale for both.

Kostek rushed for 52 yards and his 4-yard TD run with 2:57 left in the third quarter gave Drake (7-4, 6-2 Pioneer) a 10-0 lead.

Butler (4-7, 2-6) avoided the shutout when Zach Watkins hauled in a 22-yard scoring pass from Andrew Huck with 2:22 left in the game, but it couldn't overcome five turnovers.

Trey Morse ran for a team-high 81 yards for Drake, which won its fourth straight at home.

Watkins caught eight passes for 84 yards, and Huck was 14 of 28 for 149 yards.
