Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram share special moment after game

Published Jan. 12, 2016 2:13 p.m. ET

Throughout the history of time heading forward, Derrick Henry and Mark Ingram will forever be linked.

Both played at the University of Alabama -- featuring as running backs. Each won the Heisman Trophy Award, which is the highest individual honor one can earn on the collegiate level. In addition, Henry and Ingram starred on national championship teams.

Ingram took to Twitter on Monday night, posting a picture of himself and Alabama's top player from this past year. A current member of the New Orleans Saints, Ingram was the first Heisman winner hailing from Alabama (surprisingly enough -- considering the school's illustrious history).

Henry capped off a tremendous 2015 season with another stellar effort against Clemson -- finishing with 158 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 36 carries.

He also became Alabama's all-time leading rusher, besting Shaun Alexander's mark set in 1998. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Henry ultimately declare for the 2016 NFL Draft. Much like Ingram has done, he's poised to make an impact on the professional level.
