Dartmouth 33, Cornell 24
Nick Schwieger ran for a school-record 257 yards in Dartmouth's 33-24 win over Cornell on Saturday.
Schwieger, who carried 26 times, scored on a 65-yard run in the fourth quarter to give Dartmouth (3-5, 2-3 Ivy League) a 30-17 lead and put the game out of reach for Cornell.
Schwieger broke Dartmouth's all-time rushing record Oct. 8 and now has 2,856 career rushing yards, 631 yards more than the previous record.
Conner Kempe threw for two first-half touchdowns and the Dartmouth defense stymied Cornell's offense all day. The Big Green defense recorded six tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and three interceptions.
Jeff Mathews led Cornell (3-5, 1-4), completing 25 of 38 passes for 267 and a touchdown. However, his interception late in the fourth quarter ended hopes of a Cornell comeback.
