College football assistant coach says QB Vernon Adams Jr. is 'just a guy'

Oregon is still awaiting the true arrival of QB Vernon Adams Jr. Adams, who is dealing with a broken right index finger, has not made the impact most expected he would make at Oregon.

According to some, Adams may not be a special player for Oregon. In fact, he may just might be an ordinary player.

“Vernon Adams is just a guy,” says an unnamed college football assistant coach, according to Sports Illustrated. “He put up numbers, but Eastern Washington is still putting up numbers without him. He wouldn’t play at Ohio State or USC. Would he play at another great school? Probably not. He took a huge jump up.”
