Coastal Carolina RB Henderson has injured shoulder

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:03 p.m. ET

(STATS) - Coastal Carolina is awaiting word on running back De'Angelo Henderson's playing status after he suffered a shoulder injury during a win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday.

The fifth-year senior left the game in the first minute of the fourth quarter. He injured the shoulder on a 9-yard run to the Gardner-Webb 1 and stayed in the game for one more play, scoring a touchdown. It lifted his Division I record for consecutive games with a touchdown to 32.

Henderson, a member of the STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Year Watch List, is averaging 130.7 rushing yards and has 12 total touchdowns in six games. His backup, Osharmar Abercrombie, has a knee injury which likely will sideline him for the remainder of the season.

Coastal Carolina (4-2) hosts Central Connecticut State in its Homecoming Day game this Saturday.
