On Tuesday Boston College announced that former Virginia Tech offensive coordinator, Scot Loeffler, will take the same position with the Eagles.

Loeffler was not retained by Virginia Tech’s newly hired head coach, Justin Fuente, when he took over for retired legend Frank Beamer. Boston College head coach Steve Addazio was quick to scoop up Loeffler and name him the Eagles' OC and quarterbacks coach.

"I am excited to have Scot Loeffler and his family join the Boston College football family," Addazio said in a statement. "Scot and I have worked together at Florida and he was my offensive coordinator at Temple where we won nine games, including the first bowl victory in 32 years. He is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks coaches in the country and has a tremendous insight into the passing game and the offense as a whole. He is bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to BC."

Loeffler, an 18-year coach who had been in Blacksburg since 2013, said he was excited to be a member of BC’s staff.

"I am excited to be a part of Coach Addazio's program. Boston College is not only a great academic institution with a great college community, but it also has rich football tradition," Loeffler said in a statement. "The administration is great; I know Brad Bates from my Michigan days. It's exciting to be a part of such a great institution with fantastic people."
