Baylor's Rhule adds another Texas high school coach to staff

WACO, Texas (AP) New Baylor coach Matt Rhule has added another well-connected Texas high school football coach to his staff.

Cedar Hill coach Joey McGuire joined the Bears' staff Wednesday, with the school saying his duties will be specified later.

The addition of McGuire comes less than a week after Rhule hired San Antonio Reagan's David Wetzel, the president of the Texas High School Coaches Association. Rhule played at Penn State, and the former Temple coach has spent most of his coaching career in the East.

McGuire won three state championships in 14 seasons at Cedar Hill, including back-to-back crowns in 2013-14. Cedar Hill made 12 straight playoff appearances under McGuire.

Rhule is the permanent replacement for Art Briles, who won two Big 12 titles before he was dismissed amid Baylor's sexual assault scandal.
