The game between Baylor and Rice has resumed after an almost hour delay because of lightning in the area.

The game was suspended just before 8 p.m. CDT Saturday and started again just before 9 p.m.

Baylor led 7-3 with 12:45 remaining in the second quarter when officials announced that play would be suspended because of lightning in the area.

It was not raining when the teams left the field, but it soon began raining heavily and fans were ushered out of the bleachers and to the concourse by police officers and security guards.

The rain had all but stopped by the time the teams returned from the locker room for a short warmup before the game resumed.
