NO. 1 ALABAMA (5-0, 2-0 SEC) AT NO. 19 SOUTH CAROLINA (3-1, 1-1 SEC), 3:30 P.M. (CBS): This might be the biggest game in South Carolina history. It's certainly the biggest in Steve Spurrier's tenure in Columbia. The Gamecocks want to prove they belong among the SEC's elite teams. To do that, they'll have to at least hang with Alabama. That'll be tough because the Crimson Tide leads the nation in scoring defense (9.0 ppg), hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 39 games and has allowed just one rushing TD this season. That's not good news for South Carolina freshman RB Marcus Lattimore, who has run for 366 yards and six touchdowns in four games. Alabama will test South Carolina's defense with RBs Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson, and the Gamecocks will have to try and stop them without LB Shaq Wilson (hamstring).

NO. 11 ARKANSAS (3-1) VS. TEXAS A&M (3-1) AT COWBOYS STADIUM IN ARLINGTON, TEXAS, 3:30 P.M. (ABC): This could be a good quarterback battle. Texas A&M's Jerrod Johnson leads the Big 12 in passing, total offense, and points responsibility - but he's also had 10 turnovers in the Aggies' past two games. Arkansas' Ryan Mallett is second in the country with 359.5 passing yards per game. He has completed 42 passes of 15 or more yards. WR Joe Adams leads the country with a 20.5 yards per catch average. This is a revival of a series that began in 1903 and ended in 1991 when Arkansas left the Southwest Conference.

NO. 8 AUBURN (5-0, 2-0) AT KENTUCKY (3-2, 0-2), 7:30 P.M. (ESPN2): The Wildcats' cupcake non-conference schedule is done, and now they're struggling. UK has given up 90 points in its two SEC games - losses to Florida and Ole Miss - and now has to deal with an Auburn team that leads the SEC in rushing (269.0 yards per game) and total offense (475.4 yards per game).
MISSISSIPPI STATE (3-2) AT HOUSTON (3-1), 8 P.M. (CBS COLLEGE SPORTS): Mississippi State RB Vick Ballard has already scored nine touchdowns (eight rushing) this season, including a 75-yard run against Alcorn State. QB Chris Relf seems to be improving, throwing for two touchdowns in each of the Bulldogs' past two games. Houston's wide-open offense is sixth in the NCAA in scoring (44.3 points per game) and 19th in the country in total offense (465.5 yards per game).

EASTERN MICHIGAN (0-5) AT VANDERBILT (1-3), 8 P.M. (ESPNU): Eastern Michigan has lost 17 consecutive games, which also means that coach Ron English is winless in his second season as the Eagles' coach (0-17). It's not often that Vanderbilt plays a game in which it's a heavy favorite.
