Analyzing the Penn State Depth Chart for the Iowa Game

Penn State releases the depth chart for this Saturday’s game versus Iowa.

As the calendar turns to the final month of the regular season, Penn State returns home to face one of the toughest opponents left on the schedule, the Iowa Hawkeyes.

There is only one change this week and it’s an interesting one, occurring with the linebackers.

Brandon Bell and Manny Bowen are still listed as the starters, but they are flipped, with Bell now starting at Will spot and Bowen at the Sam spot.  The second and third spots at each of those positions remain the same as last week.  Also, the middle linebackers remain the same as well.

On offense, DeAndre Thompkins is still listed as the starter but he sat out the Purdue game.  The health of both Thompkins and Mike Gesicki, who appeared hobbled by his injury last week, is something to keep an eye on.  James Franklin normally does not comment on injuries unless they are season ending.
