The Clemson Tigers are on track to have a stellar 2017 season. On Monday, the Tigers snagged much-vaunted recruit Justin Foster, making their class up to 14 total commits already. Foster is the number 16 outside linebacker in the nation and in the top 200 overall player in the 2017 class. Foster also received offers from SEC powerhouses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU Other Power 5 teams like Michigan, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma also tried to sign Foster.

He is the top prospect from North Carolina. This is the second year Clemson secured the top recruit from the state. Foster’s size-he is 6’3” and 254 pounds-ensures that any receiver that faces him will taste grass. He also reads plays well and plays assertively. Foster is versatile and can play at most defensive positions, but Clemson will need to find a good fit for him. Placing him at DE and having him branch out into an LB role should shore up any holes in the Tigers’ defense and utilize Foster’s size and speed.

Foster’s commitment brought Clemson up to 8th in the recruiting class rankings. Clemson’s recruiting points are now up to 2,645 points. If the Tigers can land a few more top-tier recruits they will have a top-five ranking in the 2017 class.
