UNC Basketball: Tar Heels move up in AP Top 25 poll

UNC moves up in the latest Associated Press Top 25 College Basketball poll
The second Associated Press Top 25 poll is officially released and the North Carolina Tar Heels have cracked the top 5.
UNC was ranked No. 6 in the preseason poll released but a nice 2-0 start to the season and a loss by Kansas has moved them up to No. 5 in the latest poll.
The Jayhawks fell from No. 3 to No. 7 following a loss to Indiana. The Hoosiers rose from No. 11 to No. 6 after that win.
Indiana and UNC will meet at the end of November in Bloomington as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Duke and Kentucky held their spots at No. 1 and No. 2 in the polls as Villanova (No. 3) and Oregon (No. 4) all jumped one spot.
The Tar Heels could meet the Ducks next week in the Maui Invitational in the championship game, depending on first and second round results. They could also play Wisconsin in the title game if both teams were to reach that far.
Possible second round opponent UCONN dropped out of the polls after losing their season opener to Wagner.

Aside from the Maui Invitational and Indiana game, UNC will also take on unranked Tennessee and No. 2 Kentucky in non-conference play.
This week Duke and Kansas will highlight the Champions Classic presented by State Farm. The event also features Michigan State taking on Kentucky. Both games will be played at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Ahead for UNC this week is a home game against Long Beach State, then a trip to Hawaii to take on the Rainbow Warriors before the Maui Invitational.
