Saint Mary's, Calif., held Jackson State without a basket for more than 7 minutes to begin the game and cruised to a 77-53 victory Tuesday night.

The Gaels (6-1) raced to a 15-1 lead as the Tigers missed their first seven shots. The lead dipped into single digits just once at 15-6, and Saint Mary's followed with an 8-0 run.

Rob Jones registered 18 points and 10 rebounds - his seventh straight double-double - and Clint Steindl added 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting from 3-point range.

Southwestern Athletic Conference Preseason Player of the Year Jenirro Bush scored 23 points to lead the Tigers (1-9), who are on a six-game trip that started in Florida and will end this weekend in Texas. Kelsey Howard added 15 points and seven rebounds.

Jackson State has faced four ranked teams this season - Florida, Baylor, Ohio State and Memphis.
