Report: Wichita State's Anton Grady diagnosed with a spinal concussion
Wichita State lost its second straight game on Friday afternoon, but the Shockers' recent slide took a backseat to the health of forward Anton Grady.
During the 64-60 loss to Alabama in the AdvoCare Invitational, Grady collided with Alabama's Dazon Ingram. The game was delayed with 3:07 remaining in regulation. Grady left the arena on a stretcher.
Following the game, Wichita State head coach provided an update to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
In a text message to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, coach Gregg Marshall said Grady had suffered a spinal concussion. He added that all tests on Grady's spinal cord were negative and that he should be better "in a day or so."
Grady, who joined Wichita State as a graduate transfer this season, is averaging 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Shockers face Iowa on Sunday morning.
