Report: Providence will be shorthanded vs. Bryant

Published Dec. 10, 2015 8:51 p.m. ET

Providence played only six guys in the second half of Wednesday's 66-51 win over Boston College. This Saturday when the Friars host in-state foe Bryant, the rotation likely won't be much deeper.

Kris Dunn (illness) and Ben Bentil (ankle) missed the second half of Wednesday. That's in addition to the absence of starter Ryan Fazekas, who was out due to a case of mononucleosis.

According to Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal, will enter Saturday's game shorthanded.

Bentil rolled his left ankle with less than two minutes to play in the first half after rolling his ankle when he landed on Dennis Clifford's foot. He was on his way to his second double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight boards in only 16 minutes. He would later return to the bench in the second half with the help of crutches. Dunn did not return after halftime.

Tip for Saturday's game is scheduled for noon on FS1.

A best-case scenario would have Dunn in the lineup Saturday but Fazekas is definitely out and it wouldn't appear likely that Bentil will play either.
