Rayman's 16 leads Colgate over state rival Cornell 73-57

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Will Rayman led a balanced attack with 16 points and Colgate used a big run in the second half en route to a 73-57 win over Colgate on Sunday, the Raiders' third straight victory over their rivals in the Central New York Hoops Classic.

Dana Batt and Jordan Burns added 14 points apiece and reserve Malcolm Regisford, who matched Batt's 6-for-8 shooting, added 12 for the Raiders (2-1).

Matt Morgan had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Big Red (2-1), who were going for their first 3-0 start in 22 years. Morgan has scored in double figures in 54 straight games.

Cornell trailed 31-28 at the half but took a 35-34 lead on a jumper by Josh Warren at the 16:48 mark. Over the next eight minutes, Cornell was 4-of-11 shooting and Colgate made 9 of 14, taking a 55-41 lead on Rayman's 3.

Cornell coach Brian Earl and Colgate's Matt Langel were best friends from eighth grade and rival players in the Ivy League.
