Pistons select Villanova's Hilliard in second round

Villanova fans have their wish. A key member of their magical 2014-15 is playing in the NBA.

Sure, it would be nice to have the former 'Nova star, Darrun Hilliard, closer to home... until you realize that Philadelphia's NBA franchise is the 76ers.

Hilliard was selected early in the second round by Stan Van Gundy and the Detroit Pistons, who value his outside shooting. The Pistons selected Arizona's Stanley Johnson with their first choice.

Hilliard will battle wings such as Johnson, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jodie Meeks for playing time with Detroit.
