Pineiro scores 20 in San Diego's 75-62 win over BYU (Feb 17, 2018)

SAN DIEGO (AP) Isaiah Pineiro came off the bench to score 20 points and San Diego defeated BYU 75-62 on Saturday, snapping a five-game losing streak to the Cougars.

Cameron Neubauer had three 3-pointers and scored 14 points for USD (17-11, 8-8 West Coast Conference) with Olin Carter III adding 13 points with 8-of-8 free-throw shooting in surpassing 1,000 career points. USD shot 49 percent, made 9 of 21 from the arc and 24 of 32 free throws.

TJ Haws and Elijah Bryant both scored 14 points but Bryant made only 2 of 10 from the arc, Haws missed all three of his 3-pointers and the Cougars (21-8, 10-6), who had a three-game win streak snapped, finished 3 of 22 from distance.

San Diego led 39-28 at halftime and stayed ahead with Pineiro dunking to cap a 5-0 spurt to lead by 13 with 31 seconds remaining.
