Kelan Martin scores 25 points in 20 minutes in Butler's win over Tennessee (VIDEO)
Kelan Martin is currently Butler's second-leading scorer. And he's started approximately zero games for the Bulldogs this season.
The 6-foot-6 sophomore recorded his third straight 20-point game on Saturday afternoon in No. 18 Butler's 94-86 win over Tennessee, avenging last season's non-conference loss.
Martin scored a team-high 25 points in 20 minutes, while grabbing a career-best 11 boards.
With 13:45 remaining in regulation, Martin went on an individual run, scoring 11 straight points for Butler, turning a two-possession game into a nine-point lead.
This offensive outburst follows a 24-point performance against Indiana State last Saturday and 20 more in Monday night's win over VMI. During this stretch, Martin has played a total of 69 minutes. He's scored 69 points.
Roosevelt Jones added 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds; his fourth double-double of the season. Kevin Punter led the Volunteers with a game-high 27 points.
Butler faces undefeated Purdue, ranked No. 11 in the latest AP poll, next Saturday in the Crossroads Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The game, scheduled for 5 p.m., follows Indiana vs. Notre Dame.
