Jacksonville St. 83, Tennessee Tech 62

Brian Williams paced four Jacksonville State players in double figures with 18 points as the Gamecocks rolled over Tennessee Tech 83-62 in each team's Ohio Valley Conference opener Saturday night.
Williams was 7 of 10 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range as Jacksonville State (9-3, 1-0) shot 43.8 percent (7 of 16) from beyond the arc. Darion Rackley scored 16 points, Tarvin Gaines had 15 points and eight rebounds and Ronnie Boggs netted 14. Nick Cook added seven rebounds, five blocks and four assists off the bench.
Offensively, the Golden Eagles (6-7, 0-1) struggled, with Jud Dillard netting 12 points - the senior entered averaging 18.9. Jeremiah Samarrippas scored 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting as Tennessee Tech shot just 37.1 percent (23 of 62).
The win is Jacksonville State's sixth in its past seven games, with the lone loss coming at Nebraska 59-55 on Dec. 18.
