A dismissed University of Rhode Island basketball player, already facing charges for posting videos of sexual encounters online, was arrested Thursday on an unrelated robbery charge, the university announced.

Jonathan Holton, 20, was arrested for the second time this week after investigators discovered that a laptop retrieved from his apartment on Tuesday had been reported stolen last July from a suite in one of the school's residence halls.

Holton, a freshman, was first arrested Tuesday after two female students told police he posted videos of their sexual encounters on Facebook. He was charged with two counts of video voyeurism after being taken into custody by campus police.

Holton, who led the Rams in rebounding this season, immediately was suspended from the team. The school announced Thursday he was no longer registered as a student at the university.

Police said Holton's sexual encounters with the women were consensual, but Holton did not have permission to post the videos on Facebook. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
