Holtmann suggests rules will have 'limited impact' on sport

Published Jun. 10, 2015 11:41 a.m. ET

Butler has long had a reputation for physical defense and deliberate offense.

Will new college basketball rules change that?

Coach Chris Holtmann said Tuesday that NCAA rule changes – notably a 30-second shot clock – will have "limited impact" on the sport.

The NCAA made the rule changes in an effort to speed up the pace of the game. Butler played one of the slowest paces in college basketball last season, but Tyler Lewis replacing Alex Barlow at point guard should force the Bulldogs to play a bit faster than they have in pervious years.
