Gustys sets rebound record in Hofstra 96-76 win (Feb 01, 2018)

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) Eli Pemberton scored 27 points, Justin Wright-Foreman added 23 points with five 3-pointers, and Hofstra beat UNC Wilmington 96-76 on Thursday night.

Rokas Gustys scored 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for his 44th career double-double and became Hofstra's all-time leader in rebounds with 1,187 career boards, surpassing John Irving's (1974-77) 1,186 rebounds.

Kenny Wormley scored 12 points and Desure Buie dished a career-high 10 assists for the Pride (14-9, 7-4 Colonial Athletic Association), which shot 63 percent from the field and outscored the Seahawks 34-20 in the paint.

Jordon Talley hit back-to-back 3s and the Seahawks led 6-5, but Pemberton's 3 put Hofstra up for good, 8-6, and the Pride led 48-37 at halftime. Pemberton opened the second half with a 3 and Hofstra steadily pulled ahead to a 22-point lead with 2:15 left.

Talley scored 21 points with four 3-pointers, Ty Taylor II added 14 points, Jaylen Fornes had 11 and Jay Estime' 10 for the Seahawks (7-16, 4-7).
