Grambling St. 77, SE Missouri 76

Justin Patton had 28 points and 12 rebounds and T. Raschard Boatner hit 1 of 2 free throws with 2 seconds left in overtime to lift Grambling State to its first win of the season, 77-76 over Southeast Missouri on Monday night.

Derron Hobbs added 15 points for the Tigers (1-4) who led 37-29 at halftime and by as many as 13 points in the second half.

Leon Powell led the Redhawks (0-4) with 18 points and sent the game into overtime when he converted a three-point play with 8 seconds left in regulation. Anthony Allison finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Nick Niemczyk had 15 points.

Patton had a chance to win it at the end of regulation but missed a 3-pointer.

Neither team led by more than three in the extra period, which included four ties and six lead changes.
