Fresno State defeats San Francisco 78-71 with rain of 3s

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) Cezar Guerrero scored 22 points, including a single-game career-high 6 3-pointers and Fresno State defeated San Francisco 78-71 on Thursday night.

Fresno State (3-0) opened with back-to-back Guerrero 3-pointers, grabbed an 8-0 early lead and never trailed against the Dons (2-1).

Marvelle Harris scored 16 points with six assists and three steals, and Cullen Russo added 11 points.

Devin Watson paced the Dons with a career-high 24 points with seven assists. Tim Derksen added 11 points with seven rebounds and four assists and Chase Foster added 10 points.

The Bulldogs shot 40 percent from the floor (24 of 60) and made 10 of 24 3-point shots. The last time a Fresno player buried six 3-pointers in a game was Kevin Foster against UNLV in March 2013.

San Francisco was 7 of 21 from 3-point range.
