Father of Boston College freshman says his son lost 10 pounds due to Chipotle food poisoning
Earlier this week, at least eight members from the Boston College basketball team became sick after eating at a nearby Chipotle.
Among the reported 30 customers to suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms, one of them was BC freshman guard Jerome Robinson.
The entire Eagles team returned to practice on Tuesday, per to a school's spokesman, but Robinson is still dealing with the effects of food poisoning, his father told Owen Boss of the Boston Herald.
Robinson is averaging 11.4 points per game, good for second on the team. Dennis Clifford, the team's leading rebounder, missed Sunday's two-point loss to UMass Lowell, was because of the illness. Robinson played 34 minutes, scoring a team-high 16 points.
The Eagles are still scheduled to travel to Providence on Wednesday night to face Kris Dunn and Friars, who are ranked No. 15 in the latest AP poll. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. on FOX Sports 1.
"He's lost close to 10 pounds. He looks bad," Jerome Robinson Sr. told the Herald from his home in North Carolina today while discussing a sickness his son, Jerome Robinson Jr., a freshman guard, is still suffering from.
