Duke announces coach Mike Krzyzewski will return to the team on Saturday

Duke is playing arguably their best basketball of the season right now, coming off back-to-back wins at Wake Forest and Notre Dame. The Blue Devils got even more good news Thursday: Mike Krzyzewski is ready to return to the sidelines as the team's head coach.

Krzyzewski has been sidelined since early January after undergoing back surgery, but will return for this weekend's game at home against Pitt. Duke basketball's Twitter feed made the news official.

The 69-year-old Krzyzewski left the team following their game against Georgia Tech on Jan. 4, and the Blue Devils initially stumbled without him. Duke won its first game (against Boston College) following the surgery, but then lost three of their next four to tumble to 15-5 and just 3-4 in league play. They have however won two games in a row, most recently an 84-74 victory at No. 24 Notre Dame Monday.

The Blue Devils face Pitt — currently sitting in last place in the ACC standings — Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
